The terms of each treaty specified that Italy was to steer clear of any interference in the sultanates' respective administrations.[5] In return for Italian arms and an annual subsidy, the Sultans conceded to a minimum of oversight and economic concessions.[6] The Italians also agreed to dispatch a few ambassadors to promote both the sultanates' and their own interests.[5]

Disconcerting? From an Economic Perspective, unless Saleebaan are completely stupid, they'll stay out of this. Don't forget that Salaabaan businessmen make their livelihoods off of transporting goods to Puntland to and from places like Hiiraan. They also use Bosaso to import goods, the last time Sacad and Saleebaan fought was because they were competing for the vast Puntland market. IF, they decide to attack Puntland together, we will just turn to Dir and Marehan truckers solely and then Saleebaan can eat sand and bullets with their kinsmen in whatever land remains under their joint control.

how did Kenadiid use Italians to conquer Hobyo, when there were no Italians in the Horn of Africa??I didn't forget that..
