Rageh is more somali than half of these yuts that post here.he came to the west at the age five of years yet he speaks good somali.he gives up his time to attend somali events for the community.he has worked for itv, aljazeera, bbc news and is probably one of the most famous reporters in the world.despite this, rageh dedicates programmes to his nation of origin, his people and his deen.is rageh very liberal and middle class? Wow. Baasto, that is a very robust defense of the man. Good for u. Is Mr. Omar--the same Somali guy who made a documentary about Islam and our prophet pbuh??? I think it is in Youtube. Well of course other Africans would outnumber Somalis because they have access to student exchange programmes and scholarships from their respective countries but nonetheless, there are a handful of Somalis in a lot of those universities. Just to give you an idea, in 2011, there were 11 Somali students at Harvard, there's even a few in Tokyo University.

Elite universities are over-rated. It only produces snobs. I would take a highly skilled and qualified person from a technical college any day over hordes Oxford/Harvard graduates with PHDs in Philosophy and Chinese studies.

ivy league, russle group uni's are prestigious academically and most are research uni's too. but many technical universities that teach health care like radiography are not done by these schools. so you cannot assume that because a person went to a technical uni to study radiography or midwifery and someone who went to a prestigious uni to study English and history to be the same or that the person who studied English at the prestigious school has more credentials than the other.... every uni's have the speciality.

but at the end of the day what separates people from getting them top jobs is work experience.

No, I beg to disagree. I will take the ivy league Snobs over hard working technical college graduate! R u freaking kidding me? I love Ivy League snobs. They are irreverently lazy, dismissive, judgmental, highly articulate, oh did I mention-- snobbish? Who doesn't like a latte drinking softie with a hyper liberal disposition, who recite poem at the flip of a fingers, rolls eyes, calls you dumb if you cannot at least spew history, philosophy and literature at the command of your submitting audience. Who wants a dull, idiot with practical head, who can change the toilet paper rolls.
