Maybe I'm one of those misguided people but £950 a month for a clean and well furbished bedsit near a tube station in zone 1 doesn't sound like a bad deal

Why work your ass off to be able to only afford a shoe closet when you can get a 4 bedroom house paid for by the council :stylin:

That is the question, aint it? :dj: Walaahi--Europe waa qaasaaro. Collecting welfare is more rewarding than having a job. It is really sad. Move to America and enjoy your paycheck, and live in a quant little apartment in some suburb with your eventful life.

Biggest issue in London is travel. There are people who would purchase a studio flat right in the middle of central Ldn for 900k if that meant a shorter journey to work in the city. This price bubble isn't prevalent at all beyond certain boroughs, but no one wants to commute.

Never get a studio apartment or a bedsit in London, too f-king expensive, been there, done that. Rent a Semi-detached 4 bedroom house and share it between 3-4 people, you can still live in a very good area for only about 400 pounds excluding council tax and bills.

London is for the ultra rich and the entrapped ultra poor, the middle men are vanishing at a rapid rate. Having said that, rent is now insane, my mate who is a land lord is missing out because he charges a fair rate and his tenants worship him.

Marques, property is expensive everywhere in London. Somalis should move up north.

Greater Manchester, Leeds, Newcastle, Sheffield, Nottingham, Derby etc are great places to live, study & work in. Really pleasant cities! Travel is cheap, eating out is cheap, rent very affordable, house prices very affordable, very friendly locals, zero snobs, riduculously short commute times even when working in other cities, countryside literally on your doorstep. What more do you need?

I was going to add Birmingham as well. I do like its city centre very much all those old buildings plus it has very good housing stock lots of huge red brick Victorian terraces. My only issue is the city feels segregated along racial lines. Not enough mixing about and also it's dirty. Last time i was there i saw lots of rubbish strewn about the place.
