No surprise there. Somaliland :sland: is mentioned in many historical events, poems, plays, films and books. It had the opportunity to be a great small nation perhaps the Singapore of Africa but our forefathers were very stupid in thinking there was such thing as "Somalinimo". Little did they know that the south were mainly Bantu nations such as the Hawiye, Jareerweyne and the other strange people that are unified by the niiko rituals.

They were not very well informed about the world beyond Tukaraq.

Somaliland is the original and historical land of the true Somali and the birth place of "Somali" but they sacrificed that for nothing. I am not sure why they didn't invite Kenya Bantu and Tanzania into the union too because there is no difference between a Kikuyu and a Hawiye.

The first written record of "Somali" was written in the 14th century by an Abyssinian Emperor who happens to also have the Isaaq name (Emperor Yeshaq I). Yeshaq is the Geez version of Isaaq/Isaac or Isaxaaq. The Emperor traveled to Somaliland and after his returned he composed a poem where he mentions "Somali". That is the birth of Somalism in Somaliland.

Biblical books such as the Torah, Injil and the Quran never mention Bantu names or nations such as Hawiye, Kikuyu or Jareerweyne

It's no surprise Calooley individuals like Yalaxow try very hard to be part of this race, history and inject their irrelevant things just to feel associated. Such as beggars. Be proud of your Bantunism guys and worry about the history of Kikuyu, Jareerweyne and Hawiye slave plantation.

:pacspit: Calooley Bantus

The Chosen people are the Isaac and their nation is thus mentioned over and over again

sophisticate wrote:That's the most messed up plot line I've ever heard. I'm going to guess its Italian. Yeah Believe it not Caesar I also watched Casablanca and they mentioned that the main character gave arms to Ethiopia in the 1930s, against the Italians. They called him a rake sentimentalist. I died of laughter, so they mean to tell me the only reason the habeshi never got colonized was because of the assistance of some philanthropic Europeans. When reality tells you Ethiopians ousted Italians on their behinds by themselves.

What subtle propaganda...
subtle indeed
I wasn't the best student in English class, so my retelling of the film is a quick 5 minute ceaser version lol, thinking back now, It was allright for a film to watch for class.

So you're saying according to Casablanca the main character saved Ethiopia from the Italians, due to his arms trade  shout out to main character for that lol. Yo Soph Euros never let Africans have anything, why give the Ethiopians their shout out in history for getting rid of italians lol?
Like the Euros say the pyramids were built by ancient alien invaders, not Africans!

Foreign (European and perhaps light skin) help is needed in everything african. As racist historical narratives tell us.

1961 is way too early in terms of national history, they'd still have been using colonial terms

Hawadian why are you hating your konforian brothers, they can't help their proximity to Kenya and the marginal Bantu acculturation and admixture. Its less than 10% so don't fret. Plus, Bantu are harder working than Somalis. It's a shame they didn't inherit that work ethic. :?

Exactly Caesar, these people are beyond selfish. Not allowing a single milestone for Africans. Even when history tells them the Moors, Egyptians, Axumites, Kushites, people of Ancient Zimbabwe and Timbaktu were darker pigmented people. Euros refuse to believe it. No wonder they used to claim Horn of Africans were a mythical group called dark Caucasians. :pac:

EvolSyawla it wasn't that bad.

I don't think anyone even read my previous statements. They are selective listeners. Gosh, by the time the movie was released Somalia was a country. Also they stated "Somaliland" quite clearly not Somali-lands. Also the movie was set in the early 60s, not a different time period. Why can't you people call a spade-a-spade.
I will agree with Hawadian Somaliland had its chance with recognition. They were independent in June 26th 1960 and recognized by 8 nations, prior to their union. They choose to forge a union so the onus is on them. They were sour because funds and jobs were mostly allocated to the south. In any case they thought they could gain because Mogadishu is the largest commercial trading hub in Somali territories, larger than Bossaso (which was built much later) and Berbera. They learned the hard way. In any case, I think they would be marginally better off, or would have ended up like one of those other exploitative African nations *Djibouti* if they never joined Somalia. Plus everyone knows most Somali leaders lack vision, no matter where they are from. Many of which are opportunists looking to line their pockets or those of their close clansmen.
