I plan on being a leader in my own ways  . By leader I guess I mean someone who knows their responsibilities and who is a good role model for the kids

Why does it irk you?

If one is a leader then the other is a follower. The idea that a woman (or me specifically) has to be in the passenger seat or back seat and let someone else have control over her life seems like such a waste to me.

I have no intention of being with someone and who expects me to take a back seat .

But I hope he and I are best friends , respect each other and be a team.

Maybe I am misusing the word leader, but I think described what I meant it in my previous post.

Yeah I know and your explanation is very sensible, but that sentence... it irks, can't help it, call it a knee jerk reaction

Jasmine and Simply Serene, by the sounds of it you girls want the best of both worlds. Marry a successful alpha male and he is defo gonna be in the driving seat. They normally go for the stereotypical 'wifey' type.

If i may be permitted to give my ten cents worth, the best marriages are built on an an Islamic foundation but that may not be appetising to a woman who has learnt to be independent because it involves the female being the homemaker while the man provides for the family.

I was going to reply to Jasminder but our other darling sister SimplySerene said it for me
Teamwork, trust, mutual respect & appreciation are what a marriage should be built on. Marriage is an institution; he leads, she manages.
These roles do not clash, and are not mutually exclusive but actually produce a symbiotic relationship.

Ilaahay ban khair idiinga rajeenayaa ladies & gents, Jasminder particularly  inaad la kulantaan kuwa khair leh oo ad gurigiina adduunka iyo aakhiraba isla dhistaan, aamiin  :rose:

Edit: Are you still making a decision on these 2 men Jasminder? Which of them are you currently leaning towards?

YM neither, I think when you meet someone you want to spend the rest of your life with there shouldn't be room for too much sense or sensibility. Perhaps in the back of your mind you are aware that they've ticked whatever boxes that allow you to be calm and reassured that you won't be butchered in your sleep but if I can look at someone and think they are X amount less or more at anything then I just know they're not the one.

Might be a strange way to look at it but hey it works or maybe it's what will keep me single until my nephews and nieces start having babies

Amiin to the duco, kuligeen inshaAllah :rose:

In a world where men are in shortage as it is, I do not think you should be making demands and setting up unrealistic standards. Take over the world kulaha. Meel fariiso riyadan aad ku jirtana bal hal mar ka kac.

Hmm that's a hard one  As long option B doesn't require the "old pillow" over his head and his personality is in top form I would be more inclined to him

So what about the those who weren't fortunate enough to have both, or better put, those who have neither? You know the third group?
