While you got fat in Xamar Khalid we provided conveyor belt of martyrs for the course. So it does wind me up when some who's family never fired a gun in anger runs his mouth letting his belly do the talking instead of his brain and telling us about how good afwyenes regime was. While your father was growing fat in Xamar mine spent time in madheera Khalido. The irony is mine still holds the blue flag dear while yours is a diehard somalilander bit like you...

Born again Somalilanders, where did you guys get baptised ninyo...

One thing I notice is every year Somalia stays lawless, the more October 21 becomes a even bigger event. Probably in 1992 it wasn't that big. Now, they have all these specials on Universal TV (Non Darood owned) and other outlets having a special on it.

I personally loved MSB. But I wouldn't hate someone who hates Him either as a Countrymen. We need to become a civilized populace like America believe what You want to believe, but respect rule of law and the unity of the nation.

Somalia - Oktober 21 Revolution Day sparks celebration across continents.

October 21, 2014

Thousands of Somalis accross the world celebrate for October revolutionary Day. The Oktober 21,1969 bloodless revolution led by Mohamed Siad Barre ultimately setting the stage for the creation of the modern Republic of Somalia. This day is also known as Oktober Revolution Day.

The revolution aimed at ending backwardness and clan system that flourished in Somalia in colonial times, in addition to its objectives characterized by clear perspective and deep awareness, and determining with precision and objectivity the features of the radical changes in Somali’s reality in all aspects of life, socially, economically, developmentally, militarily and politically.

A new experience started in Somalia, based on nationhood. Revolutionary members oversaw the building of hospitals, schools and universities and handled humanitarian emergencies effectively in the 1970’s and much in the 1980’s.

Somalia plunged into civil-war in January 1991.

Even thought much praised, the Revolution Day not yet a public holiday in Somalia.

Nothing wrong with people who have a good memory of the kacaan or even its leader. Many Somalis hold dear certain individuals who in any respectable country would be classed as criminals but because of tribal unity they stay loyal. But the main problem arises when history is twisted and people try to force a narrative thats distorted and factually incorrect on others.

Take for example a typical pro Kacaan

''One thing I notice is every year Somalia stays lawless, the more October 21 becomes a even bigger event. Probably in 1992 it wasn't that big'' This is factually incorrect

To support this he brings as his evidence Universal TV, a channel owned by Barwani's. A group who grew wealthy and who were allowed to prosper because they posed no threat and who after the fall of the regime lost all their gains to the anti Barre movement. Now you dont need to be a rocket scientist to workout why this group would support the Regime in any given year but according to this gentleman above its a sign of change. looool

No country on earth celebrates a dictator. Not Russia for stalin, not germany for Hitler, not Italy for Mussolini, not Iraq for Saddam, none of those South American dictators Pinochet etl. However, Somalia is different. Really?

Saaxib you're thinking too much. All of this boils down to "Siad Barre = Darood therefore even if he was the worst thing to happen to Somalia I will defend him till I die". Allow it. Let them celevbrate their holy day and revel in their qaxootinimo.

Khalid ali, you are an imbecile and every word you type causes me to facepalm.

Khadijo ali orod ninkagi marexaanka aha raadso. Waa leeysyaqana.

We dont want to hear your trivial nonsense. The problem with Somaliland is the cry about the regime but always go cold and start sweating when the question of dealing with their own collaborators is raised. I bet if that day ever came that flag won't be big enough for all of them to hide under...

The only reason why minorities such as Barawanis, Reer Xamars, Tumaals, Gabooye's etc are hardcore Siyaadist is because Siyaad Barre treated them well and brought justice and equality to the Somali minorities that were previously marginalised by the former governments but also Somali societies. Siyaad Barre was a visionary and fought for equality let it be for women or minorities. Its a shame that certain groups of people to this day are busy ranting about Siyaad Barre. The guy is dead, he had the last laugh and ruled the nation for more than 20 years, he was the one that the world looked upto and was known as the African lion, he is the one that African countries are naming their streets after him. Whilst you guys today are a failed state and busy fighting over dusty town and so-called 'citiraaf' whilst foreign countries are dictating over your politicians and leaders. Wallahi all I do is laugh whenever I see Somalis that are hating and ranting about Jaale Siyaad.

Yes Siyaad Barre came into power through bloodless military coup which paved the wave for him to rule the country with iron fist. But if another Siyaad came into power in a different method like democracy I will doubt they will revolt. Because Siyaad Barre had a vision and character many Somalis loved, all these people hating on Siyaad Barre due it mainly because of his clan. They attacking Siyaad Barre because of the clan he hails from. They have no clue about who Siyaad Barre was and what he did, they never lived in that era. All they hear is biased reports from their parents or tribalist fiefdoms.

The reason why Reer Baraawe's flourished was because they were more civilized, smarter, more business minded then the average Somali. They were not 'allowed to get money' by MSB. In Nairobi their community is flourishing I guess the Kenyan Gov loves them too? Anyways ka bood. Was MSB elected in a election? No. But whether You hate it or dislike it the majority of Somalis will look back fondly at His reign because Humans need law and order, and nobody is going to romanticize lawlessness or try to hold a Man who's been dead for 25 years with what people have been doing since. Whatever MSB was Wallahi I believe for Somalis He was perfect. For Somalia's sake, and the sake of future law and order I actually hope I am proven wrong.

Marques,

Far be it. Actually deen wise from the Aqeeda I would not advocate fighting a ruler as long as He's Muslim. However I'm sorry Cali Mahdi wasn't a ruler (Haakim) according to Islam nor anybody after Him. To be a Haakim You have to have full control, and if You do and You're Muslim the people are not allowed to fight You. If You do not have full control and just claim it then any fighting that happens is called Huruub Fitan (wars of tribulation). If a hawiye or ather Clan Guy took control of Somalia would I advocate fighting Him even if He was oppressive? No.

My Nigga Ximan, sxb how come Farmaajo the current incompetent PM, the one before him and Afweyne all have the same characteristic; vision and characters and all Somalis loved them.

Murax, you talking from a personal perspective and trying to pass it off as general opinion. Come on son, is the American education system that bad.

The two tribes barre attacked where the Mjareteen and Isaaq and guess what they are the only two tribes with function organised regions. He attacked them because they had visions and he saw them as threats because he had nothing but a hammer to offer...
