Be happy for him. Why would he waste his talents on Somalia when he knows he will not earn a penny or win a single game?

The elephant in the room is what team will he choose to represent. England, Puntland, Somaliland, Jubbaland, South West State, Galmudug............

He should play for England if they want him. No reason to play for Somalia when there isn't a Somali national team. It'd be very disappointing if he actually says I'll play for Somalia.

There was this other kid that signed with Cite I don't know where he's at now. The thing with Somali's is they don't get support when they want to pursuit their dreams. Haters and doubters pop out of nowhere and undermine them. It eventually leads to most of their downfalls. Where's that other kid named Daud? He was talented too but didn't go far. At the end of the day if you don't have support behind you you'll get lost on the road.

It has nothing to do with that as long as your parents support you and are proud of you that's enough to keep you going and make you make it big. Haters and doubters do nothing but make you even more motivated.

Parental support only counts for a little.the first problem is the intensity of the competition and how difficult it is to rise through the academies.most of the top teams drop the academy players and only a few make it to the first team.also, some coaches dont like taking risks with somali boys cus many of then dont have the right physique for premiership football.

If he is the creme de la creme let him go all the way..if he's only half decent then he needs a plan B. People don't realise this but like Baasto said, academy football is very tough...if you don't make it then waa lugooyo...At my best i was called up for trials in Lewisham but didn't get scouted. They told me they would be scouting again in a years time so for the meanwhile i should attend their training 3 to 4 days a week...i knew if i tried hard enough i could have got somewhere but my Mum told me to focus on my A-levels..alx looking back it was the better decision...football is only a hobby for me, i don't think i'd enjoy as much if it became a career though..

If Oscar can make it skinnies can make it too lol jk. I know the sport is hard especially when you are trying to out perform other talented players. But if you got heart and good working ethics you can make it. Ninyahow even of the top flight is hard I don't see Somali's playing in the lower division. Here in the states weak ass white boys from college make it to the MLS but I have yet to see one Somali kid. Their was a kid in the Seattle area named Montero he played for the Seattle Sounders before he blew up. He audition for the sounders and they picked him up. They helped him and now he plays in Europe. If good people are by your side you'll go long way sxb. Oh yea and remember my nigga Chicharito he caught the eye of halyey Ferguson and he played in the MLS too. So a bit of luck waa loo bahan yahay xata lol

Firstly congratulations.
Allah willing, we will hear more good news about the Somali youths making into elite sports. The talent has always been there; it just needs to be nurtured and guided. Wish him the best and hope he makes it into the team.
