Twist, is right, there's more important things to concentrate on at the moment but bear in mind that this is being propelled by the business community. Somalia's business environment is frenzied and unorthodox, it's really difficult to assess.

Liquid, the World Bank is already aiding the country with financial management and budget support. No escaping that. Image

O, dear! That's disaster waiting to happen (not that we're in a better position now).

Did you guys hear/read about that Malaysia & Indonesia story in the 90's Asian financial crisis, where Malaysia rejected IMF loans and Indonesia (along with other Asian countries) went all the way in and how different the two countries turned out to be after years? Also the other horror stories these parasites (IMF/WB) did to Latin American countries? We have already been relying heavily on the "international community" so good luck to us.
Malaysia stood out as a country that refused IMF assistance and advice. Instead of further opening its economy, Malaysia imposed capital controls, in an effort to eliminate speculative trading in its currency. While the IMF mocked this approach when adopted, the Fund later admitted that it succeeded. Malaysia generally suffered less severe economic problems than the other countries embroiled in the Asian financial crisis.

I really admire Malaysia. Twist, I've read enough about the IMF and World Bank, they're a criminal cabal, especially where a developing nation is concerned PARTICULARLY any African country. No other way to describe them.
