Minnesota Somalis are suffering, just like the Canadian and British Somalis are. The only prospering Somalis are the Australian ones.

Honestly america in general i a dump....but at least theres not as many crimes/murders as canada. lol we even have a somali-canadian terrosist in isis right now...and it was all over the news....why are they alleyways canadian tho? is it because most people who choose canada are disadvantaged people?

MN is in my opinion where you will find the best opportunities for Somalis in America. That state is lacking in other ways though. I would never want to be caught up in the snow there.

the somali men got big futos, apparently they sit in cafes for long periods of time. well i guess it's evolution taking place.

It depends...Most of the people in VA work, therefore they don't have leisure time to give a ride and stuff to the new-arrivals that is one reason. Most of them don't live in the same area so they don't visit each other..that is another reason..Also they don't earn their money/income easily so it does not leave them easily....and may be many other reasons...btw we have some welfare recipients but they hide and deny...

As for VA, Yea its one of those places people won't just talk to You or approach You cuz You're Somali and they're Somali. People aren't really that friendly either its true. That's good though if You're one of those people who just want to be left alone. Basically the most Westernized Somalis in the world are in Toronto and Virginia.

Yes some Somalis in VA don't talk to others simply because you are Somali, but there are Somalis who have been here more than 30 yrs, very well educated, have great jobs like world bank etc and are still as Somali as anyone or as humble as anyone...Sorry to mention but a good example is your mom... Tell me, who is more Somali and decent than your mom..Wallahay ma garanayo...Living in VA has nothing to do with the character and personality of the person...
