1. I don't know even enough about that government but I am pretty sure there were enough D&M members that held high offices. I even know a guy here in my town whose deceased father held a high office in that government although which one I am not sure.
2. SDM was formed in the late 1980s just like every clan was forming their own factions to try to topple the government at the time. It had absolutely nothing to do with Rahanwein being mistreated but more to do with the greed of politicians who wanted to overthrow the existing regime so they can create their own regime. It was around the same time Gabiyow formed SPM to fight the government troops in Jubboyinka. Gabiyow was actually part of Siyaad Barre government before he left to form his own faction. There were even people who were from the president's clan who were opposed to Barre's regime and supported that toppling of that regime. It had nothing to do with mistreatment but more to either greed/politicial ambition or some disagreed with the way he ruled the country.
3. Barre's militias did not loot the riverine area on their way to Kenya. The Rahanwein, mislead by some of their politicians, were active members of the USC at the time and attacked the fleeing daroods in Baydhabo area. Again you are spreading lies as people like have been doing during Barre's regime in order to turn the people against him. The Rahanwein at the time (and this happened to people I personally knew) set up roadblocks all over Bay/bakool region and were killing in the most horrific way possible any fleeing daroods that came through their lands. In the end, unfortunately, the USC made them pay for everything they did to the innocent fleeing displaced daroods who have never caused them any problems.
