Somalia in 1960 was functionally a lot better than when it got handed to Zoomalis (current).

That was under way different circumstances. European countries thought they were spreading civilization and improving living standards of their colonies.

Most Somalis now come to the west under asylum, which is legal as long as your process gets approved. You can't expect a white country to simply accept all third worlders just because they were ex-colonies, that would totally ruin their economies. But I will admit that the modern technology, medicine, and other amenities have brought us FAR more good than the harm they brought. People sometimes forget how harsh and difficult life was before the Industrial Revolution.

The Europeans DID enter Africa, and they DID kill a lot of people, BUT SO WHAT??? Those colonial administrators are now dead, and the British Empire has now been replaced by the Americans and the Chinese as the dominant global powers. It's that simple. Stop using past injustices to make a case for what happens today. The Medieval Somali Empire took slaves in Tanzania as well, we colonized regions of the Swahili coast and we even mined for their minerals. Does this justify the Bantu invasion of Somalia? It is true but it has to be taken in context . Colonisation is a human thing . The Europeans colonized each other first before they ever came to us . Let me tell you about the scandinavian barbarians , funny story . So you have a bunch of savages , nomads of the Sea that are the most northern of lands inhabited by men . These guys desired something better . A place that was not frozen half the year or rocky as the moon the rest of the time . So they decide they will harass Britain . One of the kings of the various feudal tribes and sub tribes that were fighting in England against each other back then , decides to let them stay . The other half were abit like this guy above me here{ the post above} , longing for their "mother or father land " . Half of them settle there , the rest go back . So they decide after that to reach France , all the way to Paris through the river Seine , they showed up So the King of France, himself of an invading "germanic" tribe , tries to reason with them . He gives them a whole region called Normandy with aristocratic titles in hopes of "civilizing" them a little , you know . What do they do ? They attack Britain and the people who welcomed their cousins a couple of years before , subdue every body , through war / diplomacy/ backstabbing and marriage . The US sucks compared to Western Europe for the average person. It's only better for entrepreneurs and people who make over 6 figures, but everyone else is just fucked and they work a lot longer on average than Europeans.
