Governments have their own job at governing. Its not in the public interest for government to sell electricity and control it. They are inefficient and ineffective in everything they do. They are supposed to govern and provide law and order and social programs and defence and immigration and other things governments are supposed to do. They are not supposed to be in the business of doing business. Electric generating and its transmission and delivery is the job of the private sector. The government needs to be delivering my passpor

Utter neoliberal bullcrap.
this is ideological and has no basis in reality.

utilities and public transport and key industries need to be government operated.

Its a zero sum case. Either the government holds the corporations on a tight leash or they will be holding the leash.
you will then have unelected people controling your lives.
and democracy will be a farce.
whats worse is that people like you will remain ignorant and not see wjo is in control
ineffectively blaming the government and plauing useless musical chairs.

Anyone know who owns the Al Harbi company?
The Al Habri Company is managed by Farah Harbi, one of the wealthiest men in Somaliland. He is a big importer of food like Omaar and Indadeero.
Farah Harbi hails from Erigaabo, but currently lives in Burco. I beleive he is HJ, Musa Abakor, Urdurixmiin.

I don't undrestand why the government is selling its assests. First they sold Hargeisa energy company to ina Aw Siciid and Dahabshiil. Now they want to sell Bebera's energy company to Harbi. What is going on?
The government should never sell anything unless their is proper rules and regulation, which does no exist in Somaliland business.

I beleive that the government should always own the energy, water and transport sector. No matter what country it is. Look at the UK they energy prices has not come down, even thought the oil prices has halved. Seriously someone needs to stop these oligards. They are holding somaliland as hostage.

Have you read any economics literature or studies of how once public utilities that later went into private hands resulted in lower costs for consumers and less occurrences of E coli contamination in the water supply and blackouts?

They are available online.

Gurey, you haven't provided any justifications as to why government should control utilities and "public" transportation

You know Ina Cigaal went to ask money to the wealthy mostly Sacad Muse businessmen from Djibouti , forced them to invest in Somaliland { I know exactly know how it happened} and when they grew impatient with him , he literally put them in jail : Can Silanyo do the same ? impossible or it would be war among their lot
Electricity , water , should be run by the gov I think
