Of course, the debate is not about banning people from insulting God and prophets in ISLAM; that is not even debatable in ISLAM. What is debateable is whether you can punish people for insulting someone that you think is a prophet but the person doing the insulting does not believe. Or is it only Muslim prophets and the Muslim God who will be protected from insults?

All religions are indeed not equal. Islam is superior to all systems and is much superior to all religions, as it's the Guidance sent down to us from the Creator of the Heavens and the Earth. We Muslims don't set ourselves down to standards that make us equal to any others, since we follow the true path to success in this life and the Hereafter, alhamdulilah. So if some spaghetti eater tells me not to eat his god, I'll ignore it and feast on it. I don't believe in insulting Buddhism or Hinduism or any other religion. I won't insult their religion and they won't insult mines.

But at the same time, I recognize Islam's position in the world, and it's the supreme system which I hope all mankind will abide by in the future, bi'ithnillahi ta'ala

Quran 3:110 "You are the best nation produced [as an example] for mankind. You enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong and believe in Allah."

so you believe you are just more special than everyone else. okay. that is fine. then take over the world and make people abide by that. however, don't expect the gaalo to respect your ridiculous notions of being special in their countries.

its one thing to claim to be special when you control the world, its another when you are dominated. right now the islamic world is DOMINATED by the christian and jewish worlds. let that marinate.

How should they be protected, which religions should be protected, who is to say who is a prophet and who is not? Is it universal like all prophets shouldn't be depicted, well what if we muslims say Jesus is a prophet and therefore shouldn't be depicted who has more right to Jesus?

What is being asked is to not be offended, laws aren't very good at that, they are good at discrimination when it comes to work, schools, and other intuitions.

The only thing we can hope for is a social stigmatization where the main media rejects it and only radicals do it, which is already the case.
