Masha Allah! Our brothers in the Hijaz received our genealogy, this is a leap towards the re-unification of all of the scattered tribes that descend from Hasan and Hussein (RA).

If they were wearing suits and shaking hands with Obama you'd be smiling, what a amazing world I live in.
Re: Arabic readers among us, soo gala.
it has nothing to do with the outfit....im just saddened by the need to be accepted by arabs and be considered one when you have a great history and culture of your own. being considered an arab wouldn't add anything meaningful into your life. be proud...ps I've never been a fan of saudis and I'm not going to start now. they are corrupt and inhumaneZubeirAwal wrote:If they were wearing suits and shaking hands with Obama you'd be smiling, what a amazing world I live in.

It's nothing to do with acceptance, it is the gathering of information based on facts, the modern history of Somalis that is accepted by a few originate with the folklores documented by I.M Lewis, whereas the brother who wrote the book above has sources dating back to over 500 years, no advised you to be a fan of anyone let alone the saudis, nor am I a fan of them, but I know enough to recognize that the land of Arabia is not exclusive to a tribe that usurped it in the early 20th century.
With that being said, this is the history of my people, the Isaaq, I wouldn't hasten to bundle myself with a people who I have only come to know post-1960.

My fallen Somali brothers and sisters, why are you claiming descent from a religious scholar? When this cannot be ascertained via dna, where is the proof. Anecdotal evidence from written text really isn’t enough. The Issaq thing seems almost laughable. It’s like someone claiming Iraqi because of sheik Samaroon, which assumed more of a role of teacher and not an ancestor. Allow me to laugh lol. The actual term is Gadurbursi – which denotes expansion of land. Sounds more like a military campaign, or a confederacy of tribes.
You don’t honour your historic legacy and sharp features which have been around since time and memorial and are not borrowed from anyone else but yourselves. Your facial features although unique to you are found all over east Africa among other cushtic people. Also, sharp features are merely a sub-set of many of the diverse African phenotypes there are available. Are we going to call a European or Arab with a bulbous nose African, no? So why do we call an African with sharp features and darker skin an “anomaly” or possibly mixed. I find it pathetic really.
You Somalis have managed to retain your language and resist Arab imperialism (unlike Northern Sudanis), but yet some of you claim it. I will tell you one thing. Arabs particularly those from Egypt and Saudi have more sub-Saharan African DNA than your typical Somali. Also Arabs also have a bit of east African DNA as well. Do they go claiming their darker past, hell no. They downplay it, will not acknowledge it, or just project their self-hate on to someone else by calling someone else a slave (prisoner of war).
The same should go for the few of you crazy Somalis swearing to the high heavens that you are Arab, because chances are you are not; quit the lies and pick up yourself esteem off the ground. You are just a plain old cushite that is lowering your value and morale and perhaps you have been truly mentally colonized. Good Day.

Even if our ancestor was really arab(which I don't think he was) that isn't something to be going around and telling people about especially arabs. I rather downplay it and act like it is made up bullshit. It is really disgraceful looking for some prove that he was really an arab like we need the approval of Arabs.

ok so what if he is arab? why the need to go around to the carabaha to some banu hashimite gathering telling them how we are related? It reeks of inferiority.
