Free-enterprise is what's propelling countries like Ghana and Rwanda and Botswana to middle-class status.

Botswana already has a middle-class economy and is by far the richest nation in Africa, by per-capita income. Same goes for Gabon.

Free enterprise is the way to go in Africa  ....The Africans need to develop their own economic frameworks to create sustainable development

I do agree your analysis of Mugabe as a corrupt dictator who successfully managed to turn Zimbabwe from a food exporting nation into a food aid recipient. However, you could articulate your point very well without using colourful words like Addoon. Changing the country's name from Rhodesia to Zimbabwe was the right thing to do as Rhodes was a ruthless white colonialist who named the country after himself. Oxford University offers a Rhodes Scholar post graduate scholarship named after him. No one here would accept Somalia to be called after one of the colonial masters. Did you know the Italians named some towns in Somalia after their wives? Jamaame was called Margarita after the colonial governor's wife.

There is nothing wrong with renaming the country Zimbabwe. I just had to clarify it because I was distinguishing Rhodesia from Zimbabwe. Some people don't know that it's the exact same country, that's all.

I wouldn't want the country to be named Rhodesia either.

Mugabe is a good man that cared about his people early on however he has somewhat ruined his nation. But i will accept his economy being targeted and sabotaged by the west.

Zimbabwe should take some notes from their next-door neighbor Botswana. Botswana has a free and prosperous economy with a high standard of living and stability

Botswana has a per-capita income equal to Turkey and Mexico. The people are living much better than any other country in the region, and it's the freest economy in all of Africa. Their only problem is their high HIV rate and their high murder rate, but hopefully they'll be able to fix that in the near future.

Botswana is an African success story. Zimbabwe is an African failure

Botswana is only 2 million and has a type of autocracy. However i will accept Botswana is superior to most nations. But you have to understand they are developing via neo colonialism.

OD well thats not what zimbabweans say to me over here......they want him out. His only real achievement was the booting out of the foreign white capitalists.

What are you talking about? Botswana has a free-market capitalism system! They've had this system for decades now, and they're doing far better than any of their neighbors

Do you even know what capitalism is?

Warya, genocidal autocrats and dictators have existed in Africa and Asia since the beginning of time. What the hell does this have anything to do with the West? Why do you always blame the West for everything?

Do you have any logic whatsoever?

Before you embarrass yourself any further.....I'd suggest a little background reading.
Try typing Colonialism/Neocolonialism into your search engine. :)

Mali man read this - also the current president is the son of the last. They are doing better due to mining companies based in the west. However i will congratulate them on their peace and standard of living. Also made you the defender of Botswana ?

OD i agree with you regarding those confused nationalities in the west however Mugabe isn't the great man you purport him to be. However i do respect his defiance to the west and that hes reached age 91.

I asked you a simple question and you can't even answer it. You're intellectually bankrupt saaxib.

All capitalism is, is an economic system that relies on investment on capital and machines and technology that are used to maximize production of goods and services. That's all it is.

Don't come to me with your Marxist balaayo. Capitalism has existed for thousands of years, in every country.

They are doing better due to mining companies? Saaxib, all African countries have bountiful resources. So why is Botswana doing so much better than other countries. Well for one reason, the Botswana people are homogeneous ethnically. They speak the same language and have the same culture. I understand that.

But you also have to give credit where credit is due, and it's due to their superior leadership.

Second of all, what the hell is a senile 91 year old man doing in politics anyway? This guy is 91. Let me say it again: He is 91 years old. He's been in power for 30 years, and his country is doing worse today than most African nations. The corruption is horrendous, as well as the lack of economic freedom. The man should resign in shame and spend the remaining years of his life in retirement.
