No one is denying that Islam has played a significant role in Somali history and society but Somali does not equate Islam.

Forumers who make anti Islam and pro Makhnuud topic are attention whoring provocateurs. There is absolutely no intellectual basis for their arguments and if one approaches them intellectually they end up disconcerted.

I agree with you 100%, this site was meant to connect all somalis all over the world regardless of their beliefs, religion, qabil, sexual orientation, whatever...they are all somali and they are all your people. i don't know why someone people have a "us against them" mentality. How can we be equal if we keep marginalizing each other.

I definitely do not support the censoring of any member, regardless of their beliefs. You don't have to agree with everyone but we are all entitled to our opinion.

We may not see gay marriage in Somalia in the year 2015, but who knows what will happen in the year 2070 or 2080. Who knows what that generation of Somalis will believe in, or whether they'll even have Islam at all. You're shoving your homosexuality down our throats because you admit it and talk about it. If I as a Somali Muslim man had a sexual attraction towards my sibling or parent, I would never acknowledge it and I would do my best to suppress it. The same way if I had a sexual attraction to my best friend's wife. She can be beautiful and charming, but because it's morally wrong to sleep with her, I will do everything in my power to suppress it and NEVER acknowledge my attraction towards her.

@mailman why should he hide it? if a christian or an atheist thinks islam is "moraly wrong" and "corrupt" should you be expected to hide your religion? no...that is hypocritical of you. Also if he wants to say he's gay, how does it effect you? this is a genuine question, i don't see how what he does in bed at home has anything to do with you. it doesn't add nor subtract anything to or from your life. your not the guardian of his penis or his religion.
