actually reer nuur has always been the most famous samaron sub clan. other samaron subclans became well known nationally because of certain political leaders. I never heard maxamed case or jibriil yonis before zalici and rayale ! .

the Samaroons I've ever heard are Maxad Ase, never heard of reer nur or jibriil yonis up until recently..

This thread was about the succumbing literature to imported literature from the Middle east by our revered sheikh. not about the clan affiliation of Mr.good and Samaroon......

If you pay particular attention to the third paragraph, notice how the first singer he mentioned was also Reer Nur "the legendary Hibo Nura." I don't know if this was because of its relevance but the adjective "legendary" certainly sealed the deal. If that doesn't spell favouritism I don't know what does. I'm sure during your tenure here you've come to realize this. Anyway, I will no longer take away from the article, I thought it was about the shunning of music and a war/attack against Somali music/culture by "wahabis" via the targeting and pressuring of Somali singers to quit their day jobs by any means necessary. I might have to do another read through.

Djiboutian I was just making conversation. Goth is merely a tribal relative of my mother and friend of my father's. So I celebrate family, not to mention he writes flawlessly. It's not every day people you know get mentioned. I can't say that Music is Xamar. I'm not a religious scholar as I have touted before and I'm wary of making blanketed statements with limited knowledge. Anyway, take care.

Mikador is a christian name which make it that the clan were christian before islam.
Same as yonas which the later changed to yonis (Yonas is an Ethiopian name for boys meaning Dove)
same is michael which they call it now makahil

same mikayl (a branch of habar cafaan) which is an ortodox name.

Which all lead to the area of awdal and the rest of waqoyi where not animist before islam

Samaroon refers to a large cross-section of Gadabursi. They are mistakenly used interchangeably. However all Samaroon are Gadabursi, but not all Gadabursi are Samaroon. It's kind of confusing I know.
