Be that as it may, but the Somalis born in the 1950's and 1960's are truly a sick bunch of people. The ones born in the 1980's and 1990's may be imperfect, but they're FAR better than their parents.AbdiJohnson wrote:Somalis from whatever generation are all the same in Somalia. Prove Somalis are dishonest and evil?
If you been back home, you will see everything.
There are people who rent out the homes of their diaspora families to local people and make a profit, only to kick them out when their brother from Sweden is coming for vacation. There are people who are trusted by their families $40K to build a home for them but half the money is taken and the other half used to build a cheaply house. I've heard many of these dishonest cases.
And locals who try and steal a share from their diaspora brothers and sisters when their dad or mom die all because of jealousy and because "he doesn't live here. Why does he need a share of the land?".
Somalis back home are evil. I've heard of these cases in Hargeisa and Mogadishu and Jigjiga.
I have a plot near an airport given to me by my now deceased grandparent. I was almost robbed once and but I expect a successful snatching soon by these local zoo animals. It happens to everyone. Everyone experiences these cases of blatant dishonesty

Recruiting Foreign passports holders is not the main problem to me. the problem is hiring or giving the jobs to the lowest of the low, society rejects, scums of the earth unskilled conmen from the diaspora because of qabiil.Shirib wrote:A person who holds a foreign passport shouldn't be allowed to be in parliament or hold any key positions. It's ridiculous that an American, Canadian, UK, citizen can be running Somalia. If you want to hold power in Somalia you should have to give up your passport and renounce citizenship to any other country. Then maybe they would work for a better Somalia.
Somalia will always need it diaspora population to take the country forward. Good people with the right skills not maqaahi fadhi ku dirir graduates as holders of important positions. Like what they have in place now.

Actually that guy former Puntland President Cadde used to discuss clan politics at a donut shop before he was given the seat. True story, he gave his clan politics buddies cash money when his term was up. Ironically the reciepients were Hawiyes and Isaaqs. He gave nothing to his fellow Majerteens/Daroods for some reason

May be their families don't want to follow them. How have you thought of that? Just because they decide to invest their time in their country doesn't mean their families are up for that.LiquidHYDROGEN wrote:...has his family living in the west or arabaha. After they've had their turn as mp or president they flee the country. Even SL politicians - apparently, daahir riyaale lives in Paris. Is there anything more indicative of their lack of faith or interest in Somalia's future?
They should be like a captain of a ship, they should tie their fate and the fate of their loved ones to the country. Hadikale stfu and sit down.
Re: Every Somali leader/mp
The mp's can't stay in Somalia for too long simply for security reasons. During their tenure they probably have well armed bodyguards, once they retire they won't have the same privilege and all the meanwhile, Shabaab haven't forgotten them
I am more concerned with so-called figureheads of Shabaab who are happy that their wives and sons are in dhul gaalo gaining a western education, while they want to convince other youngsters in Somalia to leave behind their masaakiin parents oon waxba haysan to go off and blow up places killing others who also have families depending on them.

That may be the case for politicians in the South, but how do you explain Ina Riyaale living lavishly in Paris, or Abdullahi Yusuf spending his final years in Yemen/UAE as opposed to the Puntland that he foundedMarques wrote:The mp's can't stay in Somalia for too long simply for security reasons. Abdullahi Yusuf was also a target, Shabaab have agents all over Puntland (hence all those sheikhs being murdered over the years)Methylamine wrote:That may be the case for politicians in the South, but how do you explain Ina Riyaale living lavishly in Paris, or Abdullahi Yusuf spending his final years in Yemen/UAE as opposed to the Puntland that he foundedMarques wrote:The mp's can't stay in Somalia for too long simply for security reasons. No clue about Riyaale, he never struck me as a leader passionate about his nation tbh

Imagine George W Bush or Bill Clinton living in France or Belgiam.
And so you can clearly see what their intentions are. They are making their money, syphoning over the years until they can retire overseas, and they give not one hoot about our country. It's so irritating. No one is here to work to build their country. And if they are, they are moving at a snails pace, just to gain public favor. Flying to visit cities and eating all their food like fatties instead of building them roads and making sure they are taken care of. Why the hell would they retire here, it's shit and they know it!
All these millions being funded into the cities and 'governments', and WE DON'T HAVE RUNNING WATER?????? It's too much sometimes walahi.

I want to stay positive - InshaAllah I will - but when you know that your little efforts are not being respected by your officials, even enough to help make life easier for their constituents?
From presidents to ministers to fkng taliyo, no one cares!

I wouldn't mind if people like LiquidHydrogen and AJ (without the atheism propaganda) were made presidents. Their criticisms may be harsh but its constructive .
