Islam---if properly adhered too---already has all the tools to build a successful life, a prosperous community/nation, and a blissful Akhirah as well.
and this is why the islamic world will continue to lag behind the west. Islamic civilization was its peak when Muslims were open-minded and looks for knowledge and discovery everywhere (including from the Ancient Greeks). While Christianity was in its dark ages because they felt all the answers to life questions could be found in the bible.
Its funny that now muslims have basically flipped the script and adopted the mindset of the dark ages christians.
That was the 4th most retarded thing I've heard someone say all week.
Get your shit together. Just because you fail to understand Islam as well as how its application can affect day-to-day life, doesn't mean the rest of us fail too.
P.S. I find it hard to understand how you even can argue that us living in the
21st century changes anything about human morality and our timeless values. How is living in 2015 any different than living in the year 1015 for example, other than the obvious fact that we humans nowadays have access to technology that we didn't have access to back then. You can't answer that question, because you're a mindless child repeating facts fed to you by others
1. Slavery was acceptable in the 7th century all over the world. it was considered legal in the quran (eventhough it came with limitation). We now today that slavery is immoral and its been made illegal almost everywhere on earth. Point in favor of 21st century morals.
2. Discrimination against homosexuals. In the past we didn't know that sexual preference was controlled by things outside our control like genetics. We now know better than to punish people for harmless acts they cannot control like who they love. Point #2 in favor of 21st century morals.
As time goes on, we learn more about the world and our place in it. Thus, our morals must similarly evolve.
