That's not bad sxb. I always wanted to write a short Somali story, but never really got too comfortable to do it.

Games, writing is not that difficult but creative writing is. My advice; do not think too much when writing; decide on a subject and start writing.
BTW, My observation: how comes many members from the USA (claim that they have lived in the USA since birth) have a poor command of the English language? Many of the members from the USA on these boards (at least those who debate) cannot pput a sentence together. I read the contributions of two forumers who brag that they were born in the USA and everything they wrote was

My Somali is top notch, but like u said, I am lacking the creative part of coming up with a subject and staying on topic.Lamagoodle wrote:Games, writing is not that difficult but creative writing is. My advice; do not think too much when writing; decide on a subject and start writing.

And as far as Somalis who claim to have been born in America and can't write english, it's 50/50.
I met some Cadaans, Madows and Mexicans who all were born here and can't string two english sentences together to save their life. Just like there are Somalis from Somalia that can't write a decent coherent Somali.
Most Americans (the overwhelming majority, 80%) goto public schools which is just a failure. Somalis are no exception and goto those same schools.
I came to the US in April of 2000, and have met Somalis who lived here longer than me that can't even talk straight. Caadi uma hadli karaan.
So its really hard to say, it's just 50/50 with everything in life.

LOL. I thought I did that. I even included you in the characters. I will finish that story soon after I return from a planned trip to a place with limited Internet access.Vivacious wrote:^ Lama, this is snet, not everyone is truthful

Re: Meet Adeer Mohamed
When I was a teenager, I was very creative. I got an A+ in creative writing. I could write a long story on any subject. When I turned 20, I lost all that. I could not write a sentence. Recently, I have regained the spirit of writing but it depends on the mood I am in. SOmetimes, I can write 8 000 words in two hours; sometimes, it takes me 5 hours to write a paragraph.GAMES wrote:My Somali is top notch, but like u said, I am lacking the creative part of coming up with a subject and staying on topic.Lamagoodle wrote:Games, writing is not that difficult but creative writing is. The best strategy is to try. Write. write; practise, practise makes perfect.
Good luck.
