To the OP: calm the fuck down and stop with the anger for a second. Go back to the f-king 60s you leftist hippy.

This forum waa forum dhaqaameed ah, discussing Somali language and culture (yes we Somalis are Muslim, but Islam is not unique to us). Why you want to discuss topics considered very minute by most citizens (Muslim or not), and are irrelevant today, is beyond me. 99% of Muslims DON'T EVEN HAVE THESE DISCUSSIONS at home, you're splitting hairs you moron. How many Somalis on here ask their father over dinner "Hey dad, I'll grab a slave while I get the milk on my way home tomorrow." WTF?

Let people what they want to believe, whether it's your form of Islam, or Saudi Islam, or Judaism, or Paganism, and just shut the fuck up with this garbage. You can leave Islam tomorrow and you can rest assured no one wants to kill you, nor does anyone want you dead. Relax, stop believing in Fox News. I swear I wasn't even going to respond to this post, but I had to show the people how stupid you are under the guise of "progress and intelligence." In your effort to combat extreme forms of Islam, you have adopted their extreme "I'll shove my ideas down your throat" ways.

Peace.
It matters because we supposedly get our moral compass from Allah, and Allah gave you Islam. So if your dad finds certain things in Islam morally repugnant then the whole Islamic framework and it being the word of god fall apart.

Just like in the Bible it says kexecute your kids if they disobey you. The average Christians probably won't do that but the whole biblical moral framework is now full of holes because Yahweh co-signs executing disobedient kids.

TheMailMan,

I'm 100% against executing people guilty of treason. I'm against the death penalty, full stop.

I'm also pro gay marriage just like I'm pro polygamy. I'm consistent on this. You'll never see me be critical of polygamy. Consenting adults should do as they please. Keyword here is: Consent.
Are you also pro prostitution and drugs or does your hypocrite views not allow that
Yes I support legalising prostitutIon for the simple fact that it's pragmatic. Prostitution will exist no matter what. It won't go away. So its better to provide a safe environment for them rather than push them underground full of pimps, drugs and violence. Look at Netherlands as an example.

As for drugs, heroin and cocaine devestates communities. Just look at what crack did to AA communities in the 80s. So anything that is detrimental to society I do not support.

I support marijuana legalisation though.

I like your thinking but I like the thinking of having no law since that's the true meaning of freedom people should be able to have slaves or kill anybody they want without prosecution am all for survival of the fittest for everyone :eat:

tmac, let me correct you on a point, if I may. From what I know---in Islam there's aqeedah which is the core beliefs that determines whether one is or isn't a Muslim. Executing someone doesn't come under it nor is it in the Quran so the 'framework falling apart' point is moot.

I'll let the rest continue

No, it DOES NOT MATTER. I guess you and the OP get worked up way easier about other people's beliefs than I do (and I say this without meaning to insult). You just said you support the legalization of certain drugs, and I don't. But the difference between you and me is that IT DOESN'T BOTHER ME THAT YOU HAVE THESE VIEWS, I live and let live. And moral compasses as just that: it's not mathematics, we have different moral compasses, I accept it, why can't you?

Y'all keep talking about issues that is relevant to LESS THAN 1% OF THE POPULATION - tmac if this matters to you so much, then why don't you start threads about how "evil" the crusaders were? You'll never see me do that, it's part of history but it is NOT relevant today, so why should I keep on harping about it? Most Muslims don't practice slavery so we don't give a shit. Most non-Muslims don't spend their nights and days studying about Islamic history in order to bash it, so they don't care either. That leaves the ultra-extremist "in your face" Muslims and ultra-extreme "in your face" Muslim-haters - they are LESS THAN 1% of the population at best. Tmac: now do you understand why IT DOESN'T MATTER to most of us?

Present waa saxsan tahay
