It seems to me that the study found that generally children are naturally superstitious which i agree. Monsters in your closet and under bed, Imaginary friends, a lucky pair of shoes are all examples. Children don't yet understand the world and use their imaginations to fill in the blanks.SolidCamel wrote: Good point, but that doesn't explain why ppl innately believe in God. The study suggests ppl are born with it. Now is that fear something that is always there, or is it something we develop as we age and begin to value our lives?
One other thing to notice is that the belief in the supernatural/god/gods varies depending on where the child grew up. If they grew up in egypt, they would have an islamic view on god. if they grew up in the american south they would have a christian view on god. if they grew up in india they would believe in the large hindu pantheon of gods.
The reason i say belief in religion instead of belief in god because belief in god/gods vary so widely depending on were you grew up.
