There is no science to prove it is a innate behaviour. It is generally agreed that homosexuality is influenced by environment and social experiences.

My message to him: keep your head up. We are proud of you. Finish medical school and don't forget about helping your community even if they don't want it.. they still need it. Very few Somalis went to a Western med school. Don't forget about your people.

Listen, don't put homosexuality on a pedestal, being gay is a corrupted sexual orientation, I could care less if someone wants to go down that route. What I have a problem with is people like you coming trying to convince us, what the parents did in that situation is WRONG. It isn't, nor is it because of education. Distancing themselves is far more noble than the alternatives 1. physically harming the individual; 2. accepting homosexual acts which would almost certainly lead to HIV/AIDs.
