I'm not sure tbh. But if Somalia ever becomes a rich country, it won't be alive to see it sadly.

Absolutely.

The Somali people are the most entrepreneurial and business oriented group in Africa, even after years of living in a quasi-marxist state.

With rule of law and a stable government, I see no reason why incredibly resilient and innovate Somali firms making millions in a war-torn and infrastructure-less country can't become regional powerhouses.

With a return of universal education and an improved work ethic of our remittance-dependent people, I think our apparent aptitude for business can see us transform Somalia in a few generations. With significant revenues from natural resources, a government capable of sound investment,an economic policy that mitigates resource dependency, and a smallish population, we'd be looking pretty good.

Of course, that's assuming we realize fighting other Somalis over grazing grounds or hellish tuulos isn't profitable.
