Well according to Merriam-Webster Dictionary it does. As for FYI its just an acronym, every tom ceeb and harry knows what FYI stands for. What next, are you going to accuse me of trying to act "smart" by typing LOL, P.S.,OMG, or WTF?

Yes, I know it's an acronym. That was not disputed. You tried to 'inform' him with the FYI like you know exactly what you are talking about when you clearly don't.
Read your definition of the word.
Where does it simply state to be religious?
You digested all that information and simply translated it to mean to be religious?

You used the word in the wrong context and tried to give it a new meaning so it wouldn't look out of place in your response.
