GBV is a global phenomenon and we Somalis are a bit luckier because in most cases the family of the wife gets involved and puts an end to the abuse early on. But it will be a noble cause all Somalis to be educated about GBV.

I agree. Any knowledge that helps a people grow beyond violence and subjugation is a worthy cause.
Regarding hooyo's interferring, yes... I've seen it, but as you know dhaqanka it's just 'child rearing'. It's rarely a situation of 'hooyo having to interfere'...regardless of how bad we were beaten, I couldn't say it was GBV because I know my brothers got it too. Our dads just have a temper sometimes. lol..
Even though it is taboo to speak of, I know we'd hear more cases of it. MashaAllah, I am proud of our men in that sense, raganiimo that does not need to be proven on a woman's skin. Other women are not so lucky.

Circumcision is Sunnah for both males and females. FGM is not part of Islam but circumcision is.
You should ask yourself why NGOs and government organizations are getting paid well by the Westerners to fight FGM but not to fight droughts or human trafficking? Illahy wuxu maskax idin siiyay sida aad uga shaqaysiisan maha in aad sacabka un cidi shilling idin siisa oo tuntaan.
