If Somaliland was still part of Somalia. VOTE!

The president would have been Waqooyi and would have led the nation into stability, Somalia would be a developing nation.

The president would have been Waqooyi, developing nation. Djibouti would join by referendrum, NFD annexed. DDSI= disputed region.

Even worse, same clan duopoly, now the northern clans would have been part of the downfall and the suffering would be greater.

No foreign occupation, no Al Shabaab. Northern Somalis are good at diplomacy, as history has shown.

Somalia would have been bombing Yemen with Saudi Arabia.

It's all a dream. The Walawayns are full of lies, deceit and chauvinism. They wouldve dragged Somaliland to the floor as history has shown.

metamorphosis wrote:You are too emotional to make sense. You guys had plenty of time to break away and become a country before the civil war. You are trying to become a country because your people are weak and cannot tolerate a beat down. Everybody got a karbash in the civil war and the only ones who complain and dig out animal bones crying genocide are your folks. It is embarrassing seeing men in their 60s tear up like that on national television. Have some shame and quit perpetuating the shame of your ilk.
As usual you can't answer my questions nor prove your previous statement. Instead you divert the discussion.

What civil war?

Apart from skirmishes between Isaaq sub clans in 1994-1997 between pro Tuur vs pro Cigaal groups there was no civil war in Somaliland.

The civil war took place in Somalia. Somaliland on the other hand was subjected to State Terrorism in the 80's but if you weren't an illiterate clown you would comprehend my previous post that said, the liberation of Somaliland started in 1961 after the cynical betrayal of 1960.

The quest to regain Somaliland's sovereignty precedes Afweyne and the atrocities committed by his regime. So the notion that we decided to leave the Somali republic in 1991 because of "cuqdad" is ridiculous to say the least.

Then why didn't you attempt a coup after msb took power? It took some 10 odd years for you people to realize how irrelevant your people were in the government and that is when you people started to resent and envy everyone else and succession was the response. I have never seen more stupid people than your people. No matter how many may 18 parades you hold or how deep your paint your faces you are still part of Somalia. How does it feel to wake up to such a nightmare every day?

I'm glad you were venting out. Inferiority complex is not good for your health.

My people thought he would change things and he actually did with the guidance and instructions of the Sovietunion. However after he was abandoned by the Soviets post 1977, the incompetence of Afweyne was made clear to the public. He targetted Isaaq businessmen under the false pretense of 'hantiwadaag' because their wealth was perceived as a threat and he also targetted civilians. The armed resistance had nothing to do with the recreation of Somaliland. The SNM was created to end the injustices and to overthrow Afweyne.

In 1991, it was the people of Somaliland that forced the SNM to declare independence.

We're not part of Somalia and never have. Somaliland precedes Somalia as a sovereign state so your statement is illogical. Secondly, the term Somalia was coined by the Italian colonialists and it was their reference to their colony. Not an inch of Somaliland has been part of the former Italian colony.

As long as the AMISOM protectorate doesn't have any leverage we could care less about.

The best decision my people ever made was to separate themselves from moqdisho. Somaliland would not be were it is today, if it was still apart of the somalia government.
