They have plenty of land and many of them are well educated and westernized. They can basically start another country, and many of the christian and other religious minorities would move there because they are a tolerant people. Assad is basically busy setting the Sunnis back to the stone age so that they can never be threat to Latakia. Once he has achieved this goal he will retreat to Latakia province with all the weaponry, and will have Russian support because they need the Mediterranean access of Tartus.

Sometimes I wonder why Siyad Barre did not invest more in Kismayo, instead of building up a city where his people did not live.
So short sighted
:snoop:
sxb I dont wanna to fuck up my thread and is not useful to debate with you since your programmed like that but for the first and my last comment on you in this claim, kismayo is a multI-clan town and its not your traditional land like tartus, banyas, qardaha and latakia r the alawites heartland but you can can talk about it as a new settlement otherwise why you couldnt defend it in 91?

firstly mx r new to kismayo, their neighbourhood guulwade is like dayniile an ex military base

atleast murursade have been living in the whole west of xamar from wardhigley aka villa somalia, hawlwadag, hodan up to afgooye and that base was in their heartland

the pre-90s and the traditional neighbourhoods of kismayo r 4; calanleey and it settled by cawramale, farjano and it settled by gaaljecel and hawadle the last two are called shaqalaha iyo faanoole one is mixed such as bajajunis, mj, jareer and the other had ogaden presence

mj owned the first business in kismayo and they were its mps in the 60s and this is due to their political smartness not like they were natives

the high way to kismayo was built by prez abdirashid to facilitate more mj imgiration from xamar to kismayo

if you come to the natives, the closest to kismayo are gaaljecel and awramale(the people who bring the milk to the town) than you got the ogaden who live in the heartland

kismayo is just a suuq..

now kismayo looks like a dblock city bc of marehan

I have relatives from there and they told me its smaller than baladweyne lakin had more business

kismayo has become bigger under mx and the hg cayr have invest in it a lot too

also the islamist leaders have built a new beautiful area for themselves

so thats the history of kismayo I know this bc my jufo lives in there such us wariye abdirizaq kismayo who lives in my town, I know a lot of families who were born in kismayo

think of this: every time theres a war, mx troops would arrive from ceelwaaq of gedo while ogaden troops r coming from afmadoow!

this is how they rule basically; kismayo is closer to their heartlands not bc they r the majority!

habargidir rules lower shabelle bc of xamar

what I meant was him developing his own heartland, gedo....

bu I agree building kismayo 3was better for him than xamar

wassalam.

Sahal are those pics from before the war or is it still like that and those areas had avoided the fighting?
still the same. alawites and christians are very rich not just in this coastal region but also they r the natives of antakia port in turkey

they voted to stay under turkey bc they didnt like to be ruled by the sunni arabs

they had their own autonomy under the french occupation and were against uniting with the rest of syria

syrian security men aka shabiha

as for kismayo, these r the old days, it was like a multi-clan town

dblock can fully secure it and make it their own homeland If more people specially ogadens move to there as you got too much mx in there already but there r some obstacles

the biggest one is their internal division

eachtime a group of them takes over they clean the rest from the town and force them to sell their houses

once a very educated guy who worked in the pms office was telling me this story

he said he once went there and advised his group to stop this policy of cleaning the town from its sisters bc besides the other clans in the region, its closer to xamar and will be hard to defend It in the long term!

having in there some clans who r affiliated to xamar will not make it an autonomous region thats free from her

but the ogaden who created jubaland due to their influence in igad seem to be establishing well themselves in the region so atleast as a state its counted to dblock

I advice my folks to move to hiiraan, some of them have moved to mandheera after the civil war.

Al Assad wants to make Tartus the new capital because it has an access corridor to the shia in the Bekka Valley, Hezbollah. If he can secure this route, he will retreat from Damascus and establish defenses near Hims and Hama. He will then tell the International community that Alawites are a persecuted minority and that the sunnis want to wipe them out. By taking Latakia with him, Syria will lose its access to the sea becoming landlocked. The French and Russians will support the new state.
