ps; my mom wears it cause she is yemenian zaidian, that how her whole womenfolks wear once they reach university cause in grade school there is uniform, baalto and hijab.
my sisters some wear some not. i prefer akhlaaq over dress code.

they wear it cause they didnt want to be harrassed and known as jewish, not was their culture or religion. cause "the malik" Allah la yathkorhu be khair was harrassing them and kick them out. many jew yemenis are in uk.
if you check it, southern yemanis nothing to do with north, custom culture or dress. they are shafi'i and much close to somalis such wearing dir'a etc.

Eff modern Sufism and Salafism. They're both opposite sides of the same coin.
I, as a Shafici Somali, believe both the secualrists/modernists/gaalo rac modern day Suufis(some graveworshippers) and Arab-loving/camel humping/ Takfiiri Salafites.
Eff those two-cloth raggedy guntiinos aswell, we're not camel herders anymore, its all about Gabrasaar iyo baati.
Seen one chick in Wembley with it, absolutely gorgeous.
