Why crumble over happenings in a country that you're not resident in or even come from. I think it's futile and great waste of time. Sex before marriage is haraam in Muslim countries and not accepted by the society, what makes you think they will accept gay relationships? America is an interesting country, to put it mildly. You've got the confederate flag (the American equivalent of the Nazi flag) flying in State Capitols, renowned colleges and universities, and (amazingly) part of official constituent State flags. Gay marriage was legalized nationwide, but the ultimate symbol of racism in America is flying at venerated institutions, ouch! The LBGT community is getting more victories than African Americans.

Not really. Organized action, big money and influence peddling will get you what you want. Start local and expand nationwide changing laws and elect the 'right' people, one town/city at a time.

For the gay population, the marriage issue is more about the rights people can have before the law, and who is considered a family unit that can make decision about inheritance, property, medical directives etc. etc. With this new law, the practice of adults adopting other adults as a way of protecting their rights and assets will stop.
