I knew a couple who spent about £500 all in for a wedding and then spent £7000 in hajj right after the wedding.

It's always with religious woman though.
Tufaax Xalimos have ruined the market. Why do Somali dudes give ultimatums if you have an aroos you can't get a ring if you get a ring you can't go to a honeymoon. Man up work hard give your bride everything she wants. Ragaa hada jooga wayso dhigteen wax bilash jeclaa.
Tufaax? Doesn't it mean apple? Apple woman doesn't make a sense so I assume you're saying religious woman.

Anyway, they haven't ruined the market, they are part of the market. If I follow your logic, then I should be able to say non-religious woman have ruined the market and religious woman are ones who have been doing it correctly all along.

If you're saying to give the bride everything she wants for wedding, does she really care about you or does she care about the wedding?

I guarantee you that once you are 70 (and alive), you will be able to look back and remember the honeymoon and time together more fondly than some wedding party who everyone took advantage of free food.

P.S. working harder doesn't mean more money. Most current generation Somalis are on salary with no overtime pay. Want more money? You either wait for more few months or find another potential husband.

Tufaax Xalimos are often reformed hoes who dropped out of high school and think marriage is the answer to all their problems. Qimaha bey iska qaadin. Along comes a Farax who wants the easy way out and BAAM! They get married. Tuufax Xalimos want everything that regular women want ..they want to wear the white dress, have a banquet go on a honeymoon and show off her ring but she can't have that because she is a Tufaax Xalimo who doesn't think she is worthy so she settles and secretly resents her poor unsuspecting Farax because he got her at a discounted prince.

Our mothers waxaa laga bixin jirey sooryo, gaabati iyo meher. Our grandmothers boqol halad.. hence my tuufax xalimos have ruined the market comment.

@MissFiora

Then you're weren't talking about religious woman, I've seen quite few like that but I was talking about the ones who were never reformed in the first place. Fortunately they're quite easy to tell apart from tuufaax women. All you need to do is look for telltale signs.

If I understand her description of tuufaax xalimo correctly then it's the same woman who marries abu tyrone. I see a lot of that in salafi masjids.

Money does not define the dignity of the women. I have seen ex-party girls who have had the biggest wedding bash in Minneapolis. Actually, its the oppossite. The Good girls only want you to talk to her parent, maybe put some walima in the masjid and off you go. She does not want show off and breast naked herself. She will even come to the buraanbur with hijaab. Allah hanoo sahlo Gabdho Saalixiin ah. Most of the girls who wants expensive weddings are the well known famous Halimos in town. If you marry her and take her for a walk to Karmel, she will say hi to most of the boys that are smoking outside.
