Xiildiid, djaboutaawi, warsheikh and sicid85 thank you guys.
Let's make this thread the somali language thread for beginners and intermediate learners of the mother tongue.
We have slot of fish and chips here who need to either polish their current af soomali or genuine beginners.
Learning How to write soomali ain't that hard as long one masters the rules and the basics.
We need volunteer teachers to give small lessons on common mistakes and easy ways to over come them.
The reer waqooyi have more passion for the mother tongue than their konfur counterparts from my experience. Most of the waqooyi and galbeed Somalis write afsomaali with ease. You can see it in their posts Al the time. dadka badaanaa af somaaliga ku qora halkan waa reer waqooyiga.
Kindly if you can help to put forth somali lessons feel free to share your knowledge. Luuqada adiga kaligaa xaq uma lihid. There are millions who have the same rights but find it difficult to express themselves properly in their mother tongue for reasons not of their making.
Don't be a baqiil(stingy) with your somaali knowledge
Share share share
And if interested please ask
We hope to get response from genuine Somalis ready to help
Ya llah, let's go

Try to write a small story in af soomaliJabuutawi wrote:This same story was told to me by my grandfather, except the guy was a British soldier and the event happened in the north. Funny story though. And said to both cagihiina wax ka daya. The little boy bolted out. Odeygi cadaanka intuu dhulka fariistey ayuu cagihiisa firiis u galay![]()
I would love to learn the Somali language, too. I put a bit of an effort to write a word or two in Somali here, but I got long ways to go. It is a rich language and I am not sure I can master it from here unless I submerge myself in the customs of the people by moving back. Even that, Djibouti-Somali is a bit of a suspect.
For example: I hate saying Huuno to guys, sounds feminine. Boy, do I love saying Huuno to girls.
We ask the good teachers to see where you are and hopefully you improve From then onwars
