some people need to get out of the situation/envornment to evaluate themselves and see what is important.

ive seen somali arab people who were lost in their early age and head to life of criminals, when were deported to somalia now get their act together and are medical students in sudan, syria, jordan etc.

yeah absolutely, it could the wrong friends leading them a stray they need to be completely removed. Ofcourse this might not work for everyone but it will for most.

Also when a kid whose never seen somalia, sees this vast land that belongs to him and full of people who resemble them, there's sense of identity that's created which was lost before.

Hyper, that was inspiring to read. Masha Allah and congratulations to those kids....they really turned their lives around. In the UK its impossible to turn your back on these things unless you become a wadaad, thats what I've seen. The ones who follow the gaalo advisers/social workers have a high reoffending/relapse rate, whereas the ones who genuinely turn to Allah and never look back get their lives together overnight.

We're so lucky to have a country of our own to do stuff like this... I can't imagine this taking off in Garissa without KDF or some charity fashioned by fame loving gaalo appeasing Somalis from the West calling it a human rights abuse and child trafficking.

gedo, some wallah knew them personaly. one of them stole my dad's car sterio. guess what now he almost done medical school in jordan.

the kid was totally lost with his 2 older bros. they would disapear weeks. once their dad put in the nwes papers as missing kids. he was 14 that time. he was not drug or alcohol user but he was a theif.

maybe cause their father was a good sheikh. duadeesa Allah aqbalay.

another family same happebed to them.

realisticly, not every single one will turn their lives around but many would if removed from the envornment.

OMG he stole from your dad? AlxamduliLaah for the turn around but are you sure he wasn't addicted to something? Norrmally when a car stereo goes missing, its usually a drug addict who stole it....unless this kid had his own car.

Its easy to get into trouble these days, so many pathways are open from shiisha to bars and clubs and then its easy to start doing that every time you feel bored...before you know it, you have a problem. Stealing is usually related to an addiction, a desperate necessity, did he smoke cigarettes?

here drug and alcohol problems are for rich kids' problems. poor kids dont have those issues here.

nope, never seen them smoke. i guess their father was stingy and they wanted money to buy neccessaties. or they were just sick to steal. they were too poor to get drugs or alcohol.

That's what I like about Carabaha, alcohol is too expensive for gets to get involved in, and stealing is taken seriously. In the UK you can get drunk as hell on unemployment benefits. There are 4 Somalis in my area who don't work but are always drinking alcohol, day and night.

I knew a grown man with alcohol issues and qaat addiction who was hated by everyone, he even beat his mum up because she wouldn't give him money for booze (he was such a sicko)....the mum never gave up on him even though he was like 30+ and she saved in a secret hagbad for two years to buy him the ticket and everything he needed for a few years in Somalia. Within a couple of months he was reading quran, socialising with new people and he got rid of his anger issues completely (they were addiction related) and he got married. He never came back to the UK or went to safaaradda, not even now...he just realised he had a problem and alxamduliLaah he made up with his mum before she passed away a few years later.

Yes, but the hope is that with age, they'll sort themselves out....unfortunately, maturity comes to people in their 40's, you have to be a hands on parent for at least 40 years before you can trust them to live a good life and not backtrack on the hard work they/you put in.

She's probably scared that if he comes out, and she didn't protest, he would do even worse. Addicts are scary and the victims, the close relatives know what they're capable of so they enable them out of fear of violence or desertion.

maturity is subjective, each of us mature their own pase. as you said some took them 40 years to mature.

i told you parenting wont end until you die. its hardest job and is not even worth it. when they mature you already too old or 6 feed down.

he is in africa, specially in ethiopia. he cannot do shit. have you even seen their jails? its scariest, filties place on earth. if she let him for 1 month, he would change walle.

Another maryooley money making scheme.

Some Somali parents need reality check. Supernanny bizniz will dry your bank account so step up your parental duties.

This lady I know was telling my mom on the phone how she told her son who was attending one of the best unis in the UK to transfer to another university because she wants him to be surrounded by Somali classmates.

the worse, naag miskeen on o rer jabouti ba laku daray! innallilah! i asked his older brother " mahad o lugoyneysan miskeenta" he said, either ways was pain on the butt, now at least he has responsibility.

he has no job, cause all jobs are beneath him (cause he is given more money while chewing and sleeping) marka why work? i heard he became a father

they just enabling him, why change? he has no reason to change.
