Kissing the Quran after dropping is bidca because kissing is not prescribed as a religious solution to anything (i.e its not better than a dua for tawbah, and if it's by accident there is no sin anyway, yacni you never threw it as a part of a Satanist iniation)....but its cute when kids do it because it means they love the Quran. As for food, kissing it AFTER smelling it is like adding fuel to the fire...the whole reason we don't sniff food is because we normally eat communally (in one plate shared) and sniffing allows hairs, dirt and snot to contaminate the food....and it looks bad....and its a foreign dabeecad....white people love exaggerated sniffing of food, its so weird.

I swear my family practised some pagan shit, like flipping out when shoes/scandals were upside down. My aunt used to write verses from the Quran on her doors

You can tell this forum is pretty dead when no one calls you on a typo

Waa ceynkaa. None of it has any bases as far as Sunnah or tradition of the Prophet is concerned.AgentOfChaos wrote:Its a cultural thing, not a religious if I remember correctly.
I remember kissing the Quran when I drop it, that also is made up.

Sometimes it is the awe one feels for the words contained in that book that moves them to kiss it. I have few times looked at it sitting on a table next to a sofa while playing games or watching a movie then wondered in my head this contains the word of God, the very supreme being I shall meet, and regardless of my sinful state, I picked it up and kissed it, just to feel a little better and that I am a believer in it, sorta confirm to myself that I am a believer and will get back to it fully practicing someday.
It is awe inspiring honestly, so kissing it is understandable. The almighty being who speaks in the book, surely deserves wajiga in dhulka loo dhigo, hence, the whole idea of worship, god and slave relations. Just the Awe.
This is my logic of understanding why one would kiss the Quran, cause I have done it without being told out of personal recognition of the power it holds, and the respect it commands even if I don't follow it 100% of the time.

I purposely--reject that

Basra, I am proud of you. Indeed, my chest swells with pride and my loins with...waan yara xishooday. For you have rejected the indoctrination of the self-appointed Morality-Police, the Heaven & Hell Patrol, they who sit in their Ivory Towers of Hubris & Arrogance and make a casual sweeping judgement that out of the billions and trillions of human beings that have ever lived, only a "chosen few"(victorious sect!) will go to heaven and the rest of mankind will burn in hell for eternity. You, my dearest, have rejected, and not only rejected, but PURPOSELY rejected indoctrination like:
- Do not say bless you to a non-muslim who sneezes, zis is haram!
- Do not attend the funerals or weddings of non-muslims, zis is haram!
- Do not say Merry Christmas or Happy Hanukkah, zis is haram!
And you, O Sweet Thang, you used your Ebbe-given intellect, your faculty of reason & logic, and was all like: " Pffft, this is bullshit!" And indeed it is. For there is nothing in our beautiful deen that forbids us from attending funerals/weddings, or saying bless you, or Happy Hanukkah and Merry Christmas.
Basra, you have sparked an intellectual passion in me that has now taken a turn to the....carnal. This is how I feel about you right now:

No, it's not bidca, but if you believe it is, then the following, per your definition and the definition of the "shuyookh", is also bidca:Kissing the Quran after dropping is bidca
- attending Taraweeh parayers
- subcis-recitation
- reading the quran in a musxaf form, as opposed to the sunnah of reading it on goat-skin and/or bones.
Do you see how easy it is to march straight into lunatic lala-land once you start using the b-word?
I kiss the quran all the time. Sometimes, without reading it, just pick up the musxaf, kiss it, press it to my heart, and put it back on the shelf. It's a gesture of love & respect for our Creator, in the physical form of His words to us.

What is a kiss lol...and why is it so widespread? Taraweeh is actually bidca because it was not Sunnah or fard but because it came from Cumar Ibn Khataab r.a it is an adopted bidca and a good one. Its not always a nasty word.
