That was 2001 and don't trust these stats at all, they're politicised. They really do have a high AIDS rate because prostitution is endemic. Saudis travel to the border to sleep with Yemeni prostitutes all the time, this is known fact. Unless you believe that wearing abaaya cures AIDS or prevents prostitution. Even in Africa there a lot of Yemeni prostitutes, let alone in Yemen and the middle east.

Saudi Arabia should just annex Yemen.

The US has given KSA a blank cheque to do whatever they want in the region. So why not annex that mess of a country?

They can use the large pool of cheap labour from Yemen instead of importing completely unrelated people like Indians and Nepalis all the time. And not all Yemenis will migrate to KSA if the countries merge. In the EU you have freedom of movement between wealthy Western EU and poor Eastern EU countries, most Eastern Euros still stay in their own country. Over time if KSA annexes Yemen it will turn the economy around and make Yemen wealthy and the extra labour and military power will benefit KSA. Win win for both.

Most importantly, if Yemen jouined GCC they will only need an ID card to cross into Oman, UAE , Qatar Kuwait ... Usually, the priority when hiring in well payed jobs is for Citizen - Khaleji - foreign, not only that, as a member of GCC countries Yeamens wont need a visa or a sponser, thier health care is free and get an allowanc and many other benifts. That's why even kuawite and UAE are seacretly apposed to it because they will have to provide for so many yeamnis.

The only good thing in Saudi
Arabia is the cheap petrol and the extreme
Low cost of living. Poor people, they don't know its a one huge prison.
