What!!? Can mods read our private msgs?

Pretty sure they can if they want. All it requires is the database (presumably mysql) and basic sql queries. Everything we post is recorded somewhere (db).

SomaliNet has privacy issues and admins/moderators can read your private messages.

SomaliNet has had a phpBB platform since the early 2000s and even in the mid 2000s was using a layout at least 3 years out of date. The reason why they never updated from phpBB when many other sites on the internet did is because of phpBB's notorious insecurity.

If many of you have noticed when you are in private groups, there is sometimes a guest in the group, that's a moderator, not a user as unregistered users are disallowed to enter private groups.

Another notorious reason is because the admin and a few of the moderators have direct access to the control panel and phpBB has allowed admins to install a modification to the phpMyAdmin database which allows private messages to be viewed, not on the site but in the database.

Other discussion board platforms including Xenforo does not allow privacy flaws like that.

Regardless, this mud throwing is nonsensical but I hope people understand why SomaliNet never bothered to upgrade in 15 years.

What I found shocking was; a member call abdijohn mocking Prophet Mohammed and these so-called Muslims were talking to him as a rational human, conversing with him like a friend while he constantly insulted Islam and Muslims in general.they have no self-respect or integrity over there. These members are lost souls, this place was their safe haven; banning them hurt them bad. So they created another forum but still they are not content with it.
And some regular members from here were there too, shocked the hell out of me, here I was thinking they were honourable people; I guess, no one is what they seem on the net.

So I won't believe a word they say.

The site is ethnic group site not a religious one although there welcome to the site if anything they have more freedom there.
The extreme section is great place if that's not your cup of tea fine but don't force your views on people

The admin is an honest guy he already provided a link to his accusations
Abdijohnson already agreed to calm down with the muslim bashing
The site after 2 days had regulations and rules one being to not share other people personal information and few other ones the site is a mix of everybody from religious to none religious

i am The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports of that place but as of right now acting foreign minister since the foreign minister of that place is not online to do his/her job
