Sounds horrible, but GAMES has a perfectly valid reason behind his choice. I don't know about Abdul Abdi, so I will not comment on him. But, Ahmed Hussen, like most MJs, is a hardcore tribalist who only cares about the interests of his own and ridicules the concept of "somalinimo" even though he will gladly use it to get elected. Most non-MJ Somalis should be made aware of his hidden political agenda and should vote for the non-Somali candidate who will at least not undermine them and their interests because of their qabil.

If you're gonna make an accusation against this man, then you'd better come forward with some real evidence. I disagree with him on several policy issues, but I have no doubt that this guy is legit and he's not some "tribalist"

That's a lie and you know it. I've spoken to him directly and I've challenged Ahmed Hussen on several occasions....and this man is very far from a tribalist. In fact, many of his biggest supporters are Hawiyes, and he gets support across all Somali clan-lines as well as all major ethnic groups (Jamaicans, Portuguese, West Africans, Italians, etc.)

Of course, no one who is running for political office is going to come out and admit to being a tribalist. That's just downright stupid.

However, keep in mind this gentleman Ahmed was in regular contact with the former foreign minister John Baird's chief of staffs, and he was able to get him to push Baird to provide funding for Puntland. The goal of these MJ people is clear: to influence Canadian and western politics at large in order to redirect funding from Mogadishu to Puntland. I have no problem if that is their ambition, what I do have a problem with is this complete lack of transparency to non-MJ Somalis who couldn't careless about the state of Puntland and its people, and will also be negatively impacted by this redistribution of funds. Secondly, he is very well known for only providing legal aid to his own tribesmen. There was a well known case of a crime that occurred a few years ago done by an MJ and Isaac. He managed to persuade the judge on behalf of the Somali community to acquit the MJ guy, but did nothing for the Isaac guy and refused to help him despite his family begging for help. Poor guy is still probably serving his time. Thirdly, no one will deny that he is very anti-SL and will likely actively work to undermine its ambitions for further autonomy, and this isn't because he believes in some greater sense of "somaliweyn". Most MJs who are anti-SL themselves do not believe in Somaliweyn. It's all about sticking it to the "idoor".

As for Hawiyes and other clans supporting him, that's not evidence for anything. They simply don't know his agenda. All they see is a Somali man peddling "somalinimo" and that's enough for them. If they truly knew what he stood for, they would completely switch sides and work to keep him out of office.

Hey, I don't blame you. I get he's the same sub sub clan as you and its natural to defend him in the manner that you are doing so. It's very hard to be objective when some random guy on the internet is criticizing a man who is often praised by your community and is your own kin. No doubt he's an accomplished fellow and a role model to young Somalis in Ontario. I would have really liked to see the first Somali MP in office who will work for the interest of all Somalis, regardless of qabil. Unfortunately, with Mr Hussen, this is just not the reality.
