Somaliland imports a lot of its food from the Hararghe Oromo areas only a few miles away. They should be fine.

Somali farmers use primitive agricultural techniques. Most of those farms are subsistence farms with little overproduction.

In the West the farmers use advanced techniques and sophisticated machines so only a few people are farmers.

We need those advanced techniques and sophisticated machines back home. The jareers can tend the farms and we :eat:

Hyper, I wrote a long reply but lost it. You made me laugh mate

There are more Raxanweyn ethnic Somali farmers in Somalia than Jareer farmers. War this myth that only Jareer farm in Somalia needs to stop. Many ethnic Somalis are farmers as well.

The dire situation in northern Somalia perfectly illustrates the futility of s/l propaganda.
Even after almost 30 years of peace......they're only marginally better off than the southerners.

They don't have access to international financial institutions and big investors due to unrecognized status. That's their biggest issue. If they did, they would be centuries ahead of South Somalia.

It's happens from time to time but in the last 2 decades it
was quite frequent. There is a drought this year, but not as severe as 2011.

Raxanweyn qaar ka mid ah miyey jareer eheyn?

Where I hail from there is a permanent river that passes it and it's only the jareers that till the land. A negligible number of Somalis do and these are not natives. Waa somaali meelo kale ka yimid.
