On a more serious note, Islam is pure and universal, I understand why an Islamic state would bring an age cap to protect young girls , but I'm living in non-Muslim country, so none of that applies to me.

i don't get it. what's the difference between 18 years girl/boy and 16 years old.
it's just numbers. the real difference is how mature physically and mentally she/he is.
as long there is no one forcing the girl to marry i don't see a problem. but i will advice anyone to marry a girl younger then 20 unles the man is also a teenage.
