That's my point. Why single out "Arabism" as the only threat?
Unless one is been disingenuous, then they wouldn't keep going on about Arabs.

Alashabab and whatever their influences are cannot be blamed on Arabs alone. All the talk about wahabism/salifism and saudi sponsored poisonous ideologies are not implemented by Somali without adding their on qabyaalad ingredients. So somali cannot blame outside influences for their condition. But if we gonna go down that route, then lets list all the foreign cultures that threatens Somali starting from the most damaging.

The misinterpretation of our faith into something extreme and inhumane,....again.....has nothing to do with Arabs.

Beside, the chances of two clans decimating each other over a kursi (political position that will provide one the perfect opportunity to demonstrate his twerking skills to Adeer Sam) or a plot of land is higher than anything else.

Defending Somali culture and preserving what is left of it, ....I welcome.
But undermining our beautiful faith with hate mongering and under the pretext of defending Somalinimo.....I say :lost:

wa bilahi tawfiq.

i just do not understand this arabism.

are we also supposed to not read quran in arabic and pray our salat in somali nor teach our kids? it was point rised before by african american person, who sincerely told me when i called him for eid mobarak. he said this ramadan was best ramadan for me, connecting with God cause he finished reading quran 3 times in english and felt much better than reading in arabic . fair, valid point if that is how he wants to connect with God and pray the language he knows best.

farthest somali daqan away from arab i saw was in kililnka.... wearing abaayah is next to zero, leave alone niqaab. are they better somali? hell no... they have no sense of somalinimo and close to they masters ethiopian.

Once you are made to feel guilty about "Arabism" and you buy into that 'fake pride and insincere somalinimo' your half way there. The rest easily fall into place.

You made to believe that Arabs evil.
you begin to despise anything Arabs.
Always putting the emphasis on Wahabis/salafism hinting that Islam is not Arab (which is true) and used as a reverse psychology. Before you know it, just like a dog, you start chasing your own tail without any help.

Hyperman,

The point is you should take pride in your heritage. Nothing wrong with being Somali.

Hyperman,

Evidently, people ARE saying that by the HOW they react to topics. Anyone who criticizes Arab supremacism is viciously attacked. Why? Could it be because they're ashamed of being Somali and hence identify more with Arabs? A jarred nerve?

Don't get me wrong, I know, and I've seen it with my own eyes, Somalis who identify with other people be it African Americans, Europeans, Hindus and so on. But nothing solicits so much ire as criticism of Arab supremacism.
