NATO just said they will not support Turkey if they get into a direct confrontation with Russia.

The reason why the Turks are struggling to decide whether they should stop the Kurdish expansion is because NATO-USA now support the Kurdish separatist which is listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey and is seen as a major threat to them so Turkey is feeling betrayed by NATO.

On the other hand, they cannot intervene because Russia is there unless if YPG-PKK take over the rest of North Syria, Turks will have no choice but to enter Syria.

They already have North Iraq as an autonomous state but different party which is an ally of Turkey. 90% of Northern Syria is under YPG and they are expanding to the remaining due to Russian air support.

Turkey thought they were being smart by under handedly supplying ISIS and facilitating a business for them to gain a foot hold in the region. They figured that with the support and help of NATO, that surely no one could stand in their way.

What a rude wake up call they have had, with NATO announcing that they will not support them. These Turks think they can order the Slavic Russians around like how they did when they were the Ottoman empire. They basically used to enslave Slavs in their millions, castrating the males and using their women as concubines. The Russians remember this, and this is why they dislike them.

I suppose we will probably see a further reduction in oil prices and a whole host of other passive aggressive moves by NATO in order to undermine Russia. Lets just wait and see how it all turns out. But like you said, if the Kurds gain to much of a strong hold, then Turkey will have no choice.

Bro i once showed that Video to arab friends of mine many years ago and it didn't even register to them the game Nato is playing. To the sunni Arabs Bashar and Maumar are the Devil and Nato are the western white angels there to save them from their own Arab scum rulers in their minds. Guys the ceasefire in Syria has deteriorated with more people dying in the last two days, than the eight days previous to that. Also the united states has started to conduct mock nuclear military drills over Norway and other parts of Russia. Things are getting serious again, and for some reason the mainstream media is staying quite. Russia is also conducting their own drills, setting up choke points across the Atlantic and setting their nuclear submarines on duty.

Putin just announced that he is withdrawing from Syria, taking out the main part of his army. This is obviously a tactical withdrawal and could be signs of very big things to come. A Russian air base and a naval base will remain, so this is not a total military pull-out.
