It's getting seriouse.
Residents in central Somalia say heavily armed suspected al-Shabab militants have arrived at their coastal village and exchanged gunfire with local militias. The reports came before the telecommunications of the town were completely cut off Monday afternoon.

Residents who asked not to be named for fear of reprisals told VOA that the militants were travelling on three boats that entered Gara’ad village, 280 kilometers North East of Galkayo, the provincial capital of Mudug region of Central Somalia.

“Travelling with three boats, they entered the village from the sea. They exchanged fire with local militias, and we do not know their aim,” said one resident.

As soon the news broke out, the village’s communication with the outside world was cut off, making details unavailable.

Authorities in the Puntland region of Somalia which controls Gara’ad village could not be reached for comment.

The move comes two days after al-Shabab fighters in central Somalia shut down telecommunications between the towns of Harardhere and Hobyo.

Resident Abdi Ali told VOA Somali the militants were making military movements around Harardhere town.

“They kidnapped several boats from the local fishermen and loaded them with fighters,” Ali said. “We do not know where those fighters were sent to.”

actually, no, al shabab brought all their boats last night, puntland captured the town early in the morning, they are not holding on to these towns, but are using them as transit to move to the galaga mountains,

also in nugul they split up, one half is moving towards sool, while the other is continung on the path you already described

puntland is largely uninhabited, so they are moving through the bush and trying to avoid any of the major towns

Are you saying Gudoomiyaha putland ee magaalada garacad is laying? And you know more then him self?
Two more boats carrying shabaal leaders arrived three hours ago from this time according to him and he added there is no single putland army

oh, i was talking about the first group,
yes its correct another group has come, and will soon follow their allies up north, the puntland army did also come, but retreated

however what is not clear is their end destination, most are of course heading towards galaga, however a large contingent is actually heading towards sool,

i have distant realtives who herd cattle in northern mudug, but i myself am not reer puntland

Telecommunication between Hobyo Harardheere has been restored, there is something very fishy going on this sudden push towards Puntland, they are getting some serious funding, we been fighting these bastards for a full week now around mountain areas and have them under siege in Harardheere and surrounded in Ceeldheere, they are employing new strategy which is to push towards Nugaal and Sool, someone really wants Amisom in those areas, they don't have any support base in Mudug.

in the end they want Amisom in every somali populated area, its really serious,

but i dont even think they want mudug nor nugaal, in the end their prize is bari and sool and further on towards the rest of sland

In Galmudug they are besieged in Harardheere, surrounded in Ceeldheere (Weceysle territory), they are being chased out of shabelle, they are looking for a safe sanctuary, you had the air-strikes that killed 150 of them recently, however they fact they are able to cut communications like they have done, there is something very sinister about it, my guess is they are heading towards Galgala, they need a stable base.
