Awwwwww that's so sweet. Funny how we see someone in 1 way, and then in a complete different light once we let them in.InaSamaale wrote:We got properly introduced through family. We met interstate 2 years prior to that at an Islamic self development retreat. I initially wasn't going to go, but my friend helped organise it & talked me into it.
I ended sharing two 40 minute rides with him and another Saudi sister from the airport to the place & on the way back too. The volunter brother driving us was trying to make conversation, I would speak to him & the other sister (she was pretty chatty) & ignore "the snobby Somali guy"I can see now why I thought that because he's pretty reserved.
Most awkward ride of my life. I don't think we exchanged more than salaams. I found out throughout the ride what he does & which suburb in Melb he lives.
Two years later, my cousins husband introduced us. When my cousin gave me his short bio & name I was hoping it wasn't him. Her husband spoke highly of him so I just went with it. With my cousins help we FB stalked him. His FB is very restricted with want you can see unless you're a friend. No FB profile but we managed to see some photos he got tagged in lol (I taught him how to properly hide those too now)
Anyways, throughout the whole time, I didn't really think we'd click or it would lead to marriage but I was open minded & alhamdulilah.

We bumped into each other He was coming back from a date and he walked me home talking until we ended up in jigjigayar. so we walked all the way back. Exchanged our 41's
He flew out the next week
But our first proper date was in London
The rest is history
Inadeer ciyaarta meesha ka daa nooh.Thuganomics wrote:Apparently, I’d met Zuleekha a hundred times — we grew up in the same town and my cousin was her best friend — but I never remembered her. One night, at another typical Somali wedding I overheard her telling someone that her favorite food was "sandwiches." I walked over — not thinking we’d ever met — and told her:"Naa naga tag sandwiches are not a food; they’re a category of food." We ended up getting in a surprisingly heated argument about it, which ended with her saying, “Aboowe we’ll just have to agree to disagree nooh" and me responding “No. I don’t agree. Unless you’d eat a khaansiir sandwich, waxaad leedahay aqli gal maaha.By the way numbarkaagii muxuu ahaa horta"
She said "waa 079........,laakiin,don't you know me,I see you all the time in your cousins. And the rest is history

Can you go find another thread to ruin. This is for grown folks.GAMES wrote:We met at a strip club. She caught my eyes and I knew it was love at first sight. I waited until her shift was over and asked her if i can give her a ride. Well, the rest is history.
10yrs and 3 kids later, we are still strong.
