Exactly. These outsiders use Qabiil to divide us. If one goes back to the sultanate times of Somalia, of course Qabiil existed, but intermarrying between tribes was a common thing. We didn't discriminate against one another, sure a few scuffles here and there, but we were united. I'm sure all of our mothers here don't have the same Qabiil as your fathers. Once the English and French came however, they exploited our Qabiil system and engineered a "us against them" trope that is still being played till today.

This "form" of tribalism was engineered by our English and European colonial masters to exploit and divide the Somali people. This caricature of tribalism is not the tribalism the Somalis adhered to and practised back when we were allied with the Ottoman Empire, the Sultanate times and way before that.
