Not only hawala mafia but also the people who print the fake money. The number cause of inflation in Somalia is these fake money that is printed in overseas, and when it comes to the country, it starts destroying the livelihood of the poor.

printing fake currency doesnt work anymore,it is all about uncle sam dollar.

Perhaps you have an information that I don't have. Plz enlighten me how it is controlled if the central bank is not fully operational?

it is about face value,people know and can instantly recognize fake shilling currency(which is almost dead by the way) so people have moved to mobile banking,sms banking and usa dollar,what ever you print is at your expenses,PL is the biggest printer of fake currency and that effects mainly their regions because other people in other regions do transactions in usa dollar even in baydhabo they do transaction in ethiopian birr!
