Tede kale it is absurd what you are saying. In Canada & everywhere people will always refer to you as a Somali and see you as one, that comes with its implications. its not like you disidentifying from your Somali identity is going to benifit you or be proactive, not only that but you are also part of the Somali comunity in Canada.

Why? you may ask. Because Canada and the United States are culturally pularistic societies

The physicallity of you being Somali will always have an impact in the walk of life. You may not be Somali in mentality or in attitude, but you will always be one physically.
That innit of itself will show you in Canada and throughout how other communities have an exclusivity not just based on culture but also race & ethnicity.

So you might walk around saying i am decultualized and i identify as 100% Canadian but it wont make a single difference in the play of things.

So save yourself from trying negate who you are and embrace it.

I agree with u 100%, There's nothing Somali about u and I wouldn't consider u one of my own. It doesn't matter where u were born or raised. Being Somali is a state of mind in the west. I just wish u didn't waste so much energy and time signing up on this forum to post this.
