arabs had only a small role fro 750AD onwards,
most of the scientists and artists were persian, only a small minority were ethnically arab like al Kindi( the father of cryptography), from the famour Kinda yemeni tribe,

As people before me have said. Many of these arab achievement were not arab achievement.They just took credit for it or was credited by cultural assimilations. It was scientists from different nations, like Iran, India etc.

I am glad u agree with my point. Whether Arabs or Persians---they all spoke Arabic. A language is vital for the survival of civilization. My point of the thread was--the arabs were weak in not maintaining and fighting for Arabic to stay, just like The English did for the English Language. America is an offspring of England, and thus English survives. The Arabs should have created an offspring.

Actually, the persianisation of the Eastern/North-eastern parts of the Middle East was well underway even during the Abbasid Caliphate. Not to mention, a lot of the Caliphs had Persian mothers themselves. The caliphate lost more land and influence very early on with the persian Samanid sultans ruling concurrently with the Abbasids.

Even at the height of the Mongol conquests, it was Persian (or persianised Turks)kingdoms and petty states like the Khwarezmian empire that suffered the brunt.

Anyway, arabic was the lingua franca for much of the middle-ages much like English is today. It would be mistake to conflate arab-speaking with being ethnically arab.
