The plan for Maydh port and others such as Lughaya is to be a fishing port. Berbera is the only port that is allowed to be
used to import and exports goods and to collect taxes and service charges. If in the future other ports are required for
import/export purposes, the government will take over their management.
Tax collection is exclusively a government responsibility.
Maydh already has customs that collect the tax from the fishing boats and other goods such as the khat that comes from
Yemen, that is where the money from all those new buildings in Maydh comes from. You must be naive if you think this
port will be used only for fishing Lol, more like anything will be imported and shipped from there. The only thing you
have got right is the overall tax collection is the job of the central Gov which appoints port authority for each port just
like Cali Xoorxoor was appointed, but it doesn't determine what can be imported or exported.
