valid point waachis but the only difference Amhara is Enemy also to the Eritreans , its like Somaliland arming a group in southern Somalia who also oppose Somaliland independence. Perhaps Alshabaab is worth supporting perhaps

the amhara elites are, because they see eritrea as their ancient empires sea port.
but i do not know if the younger generation of amharas even care for eritrea.
eritrea's plan has always been to support any anti-ethio group because it stretches the ethiopian army thin and makes it easier for eritrea to handle ethiopia's forces. eritrea knows in a fair one-on-one, ethiopia will win each time, simply due to sheer size difference (manpower, resources, even international clout).

Eritrea are also small Habasha very paranoid people with the exception of the Muslim Eritreans. Amhara can take down the Eritreans hands down the Amhara almost captured Asmara under Meles zenawi in 1999. Amhara was doing the fighting to set things straight they were only waiting for meles to declare an all out war on the Eritreans as he did. What are Oromo waiting for waryaa meesha ka kac Oromo wa inay toosaan.

the conflict between the tigrayans is centered around who shall lead the horn and both of them have anti-Arab orientations, infact the Jewish lobby in America is behind the survial of eritrea

At the beginning wayana were dependent on Eritrean but after they got stronger they tried to impose their greater ethiopian agenda on eritrea economically

Now removing wayana will bring them back into the Eritrean barn and can serve as a buffer zone against amhara-real ethiopia-many may get the Eritrean nationality wich will boost the latters population.
