In traditional Somali culture it is important for each child to learn his genealogy up to the level of clan family, beyond that no real significance emerges.
Corrected it. Don't leave out parts of my quotation, just because it is unfavorable to you. It is dishonest to do so.
iandi wrote:b]as i said the relatively few "afrocentrics" out there making up ch*t are no more or less incredulous in their imagination than some somalis........so somalis must know that when they point at someone else three fingers are pointing back at them........the sensible ones know that.
Still a false equivalence Somalis do not claiming other peoples heritage and history etc like Afrocentrics do. So it doesn't compare, plus that part of Somali genealogy is religiously symbolic rather than literal. It holds no political or practical significance, nor does it inform a notion of heritage.
Typical.........trying to assert distinctions between Somali fairy tales and "afrocentric" fairy tales. Its all fairy tales man. six of one and half dozen of the other. You want distinctions? How about "afrocentric" fairy tales like that of the above are advocated by just a few knuckleheads....however apparently the vast majority of somalis believe in your arab fairy tales.

The problem with you is that you take these jokers seriously. They are trolls and clowns, why even dignify with a response?
Your other problem is that you try to presume over peoples history. There are real historical and genealogical ties between the horn of Africa and Arabia.
There were times when the entire southern Arabia quadrant was inhabited by Cushites. There were kingdoms that spanned across both the Horn of Africa and Arabia. There are ethnic groups in southern Arabia who speak semitic languages with a Cushitic substratum like the Mahra, Harasis etc
Now how anyone can call that factual history "fairytales" is beyond me.
For goodness sake all you have to do is look at a map. Arabia is practically a peninsula of Africa. It is right next to the Horn of Africa and north East Africa.

Simply dismissing it doesn't erase it. Argue against the distinction. Whose heritage, history and culture are Somalis claiming?.
Afrocentrism is not grounded on fairy tales , but rather it is pseudo history and claim game as a reaction to Euro-centrism.
Talking descent from the Prophet (PEACE BE UPON HIM), is not fairy tales, it is religious symbolism, that holds no practical or political importance.
It has nothing to do with Arabs and has everything to do with Islam.

It is hilarious though how people tend to project modern perspective unto ancient history. Middle-east is actually Northeast Africa. The term middle east is a modern political term, not a historical relic that separates Arabia from the Horn of Africa.
Does she even know that Kingdom of Axum(Horners) ruled Arabia and how Afro-Asiatic language family originated in the Horn of Africa then spread out.
iandi is a typical Afrocentric. Their Go To trade mark is accusing other Africans of being Arabs.

The problem is the uniformed Africans in the west joins the anti-Arab camp because of their lack of cultural information on their own motherland.

My point in using Othello was being sarcastic and also stating the fact that black people contributed ZERO things in the world.

I mean, look at u--the messiah for ni.ger causes--u couldn't come up with a worthy black person contributions---u resorted to a food transportation black who worked for a white company.

King James 1 came from a pure Scottish royalty.

His mother was Mary Stuart --cousin of Queen Elizabeth the first. James dad was a Scottish noble whom his mother was related by blood. Just like his dad--he was also bisexual, and he is the one responsible for the publishing of the bible. A great king but boring KIng in my estimation.
PS It is very interesting looking at his photos though. Also his mother, they have a sort Jareer -ness. Their hair is very hard--and I believe Mary had dark eyes-- not sure. These features are very questionable.

Other than the regency period, what was your other favourite British period? Tudors? Normans? Stuarts? House of Plantagenet era? Roman erea? Anglo-saxon ? Viking ? etc..

Tudors/Stuarts
The rest are too far behind. I like the age of enlightenment period times.
